1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies — pixels, web beacons, local storage, and software development kits ("SDKs") — that perform similar functions. In this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".
Cookies can be first-party (set by Dermeva) or third-party (set by another company on our behalf, for example an analytics or advertising provider). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period).
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the store to work — they let you add items to your cart, log into your account, and complete checkout securely. They cannot be switched off. Providers include Shopify (cart, session, checkout, fraud-prevention).
Analytics and performance
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the store so we can improve it — which pages are popular, where people drop off, and which products attract interest. Providers include Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Data is aggregated and pseudonymised; we configure Google Analytics with IP-anonymisation enabled where supported.
Marketing and advertising
These cookies build a profile of your interests so we can show you relevant ads on other websites and measure the performance of our advertising. Providers include Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Ads. Some sharing of online identifiers with these advertising partners may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under California law.
Email marketing and personalisation
We use Klaviyo to send our marketing emails and to recognise you across visits when you click through from one of our emails. This helps us avoid sending you the same content twice and tailor recommendations.
3. Your choices and how to manage cookies
- Cookie banner. When you first visit the store from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you will see a cookie banner asking you to accept, reject, or customise non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" of personal information for California and other US states that recognise it.
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the store such as the cart and checkout.
- Advertising opt-outs. You can opt out of interest-based advertising via the industry tools at optout.aboutads.info (US), youronlinechoices.com (UK/EU), and youradchoices.ca (Canada).
- Email marketing. Click "unsubscribe" in any of our marketing emails, or update your preferences in your account.
4. Region-specific notes
- United KingdomUnder PECR and the UK GDPR, non-essential cookies require your consent. We do not set analytics or marketing cookies until you accept them via the banner.
- United StatesFor California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and other state-law residents we honour opt-outs of "sale", "sharing", and targeted advertising via the cookie banner and the Global Privacy Control.
- CanadaUnder PIPEDA and provincial laws (including Quebec's Law 25) we obtain meaningful consent for the use of non-essential cookies and provide a clear opt-out.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove tools. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the store.
